Zack Murray is doing a sponsored skydive at Dunkeswell airfield on September 2nd this year to raise money for Diabetes UK and Hospicare SW.
I'm Zack Murray. A 29 year old father of 2 from Exeter, born and raised in Exeter. I'll be doing a sponsored skydive at Dunkeswell air field on September 2nd this year. As I'm pretty terrified of heights, 15,000ft is going to seem like a VERY long way down indeed! Not only am I raising money for Diabetes UK, but also for Hospiscare SW.
The reasons behind my choice of charities is quite simple. Hospiscare SW took care of my grandfather in his last days of his fight against bowel cancer, so it is my way of saying thank you to them. As for Diabetes UK, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes myself in January of last year. Needless to say that this came as a huge shock to me. It really was the last thing I expected to hear. My diagnosis really has changed my life in so many ways. I am needlephobic myself, so having to face one of my biggest fears on a daily basis was, and continues to be a massive challenge for me. I have to be very careful in what I eat, and what I do in my day to day life, everything from exercise to shopping. So as you can see, both charities are very close to my heart. It is my hope that the money raised for Diabetes UK will go towards finding a way for other needlephobic diabetics to take their insulin without having to go through the ordeal of injections.
I’d be really grateful if you could support me here is my the website for online donations is http://www.bmycharity.com/zackmurray Thanks, Zack.
